What is Experential Learning?
"For the things that we have to learn before we do them, we learn by doing them"
~ Aristotle
From ancient times, learning by 'getting one's hands dirty' has always been one of the best ways of meaningfully learning something for life. Experential Learning is just a continutation of this ancient tradition using a mixture of games, role-plays and experiences.
David Kold, one of the first gurus of Experential Learning stressed the importance of the continiuous cycle of experiencing something, reflecting about what happened, form some abstract concepts about what happened and finally test that concept with a new experiment/ new scenario.
The effectivess of Experential Learning can be gauged by its widespread use all over the world including many of the top-universities, business schools and even corporate training programs.
The Intuitive Learning Framework
At Intuitive Learning, we focus on using games as a medium of experiential learning. Our games are designed such that players role-play specific roles in real-life scenarios, thus enabling them to apply what they learn.
The dynamic and interactive environments of these games makes players subconsciously look at all the possible permutations and combinations that would allow them to win the game. The process of analyzing all this data, taking actions by applying information and reflecting on the results follows Kolb's cycle of Learning and enables participants to test academic learning and application of theory in different scenarios.
